At RyKar Homes, we take a personal approach to homebuilding. You are not a number to us. You’re part of the family. And that means we’re there for you through the entire process, providing as much or as little guidance as you need from start to finish. We put together a step-by-step guide to our homebuilding process, so you’ll know what to expect each step of the way.

Project Consultation/Choose Homesite and Floor Plan

We sit down with you and delve into what you want in your dream home — your design likes and dislikes, your must-haves and absolutely must-haves, your style preferences — and how your family lives, room by room. From there, we assist you in choosing the homesite and floor plan that best fits you and your family.

Design Appointment

Next, it’s time for a visit to RyKar’s design center, where we guide you in selecting all of the materials and fixtures for your new home — flooring, countertops, lighting, paint colors and more.

Pre-Construction Meeting

We walk the homesite with you and review the placement and structural options for your home. We also outline what you can expect for the construction process and give you an estimated time frame for your next meeting — the pre-drywall stage.

Pre-Drywall Meeting

We give you a behind-the-scenes tour of your new home with the plumbing, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) and electrical systems installed. You also get a rundown on the remaining steps in the construction process and confirmation that all contracted options are in place. 

Here are the primary construction stages you can expect:
 Form the foundation
 Frame the walls, floor, and roof systems
 Install plumbing, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), and electrical systems
 Install insulation
 Complete the drywall, trim, and paint, and start exterior finishes
 Install floors and countertops and kitchen/bathroom hardware and fixtures
 Complete final touches to interior and exterior

Quality Walk

To ensure your home meets RyKar’s high quality standards, RyKar owner Ryan personally conducts a thorough inspection of your home with your project manager to look for any imperfections before bringing the contractors back to make final improvements and repairs. 

Homeowner Orientation

About a week before your scheduled closing, we introduce you to your new home and explain how all of the systems and appliances operate, as well as provide tips on how to maintain your new home. If any imperfections are found during the walk-through, we bring the contractors back in to address them prior to closing.
